adidas Beats Expectations With 8% Sales Increase in Q1 2024

Adidas exceeded expectations in Q1 2024, reporting an 8% increase in sales to €5.46 billion EUR by March 31.

Despite challenges from losing the YEEZY line and cutting ties with Ye in 2022, adidas experienced growth driven by strong demand for its Samba, Gazelle, Spezial, and Campus franchises. Notably, sales from the remaining Yeezy inventory contributed approximately €150 million EUR in revenue. Footwear revenues surged 13%, led by Originals and Football categories, while apparel sales rose by 2%. However, accessories sales dipped by 1%.

Positive growth was seen in Europe (14%) and Latin America (18%), with Greater China up by 8%. North America faced a 4% decrease, primarily due to wholesale declines.

Looking ahead, adidas plans to continue investing in product, brand, sales, and marketing for sustained growth, prioritizing long-term progress over short-term profit optimization.
