According to a report from Mastercard SpendingPulse, UK shoppers returned to the high street for the festive period with jewellery and clothing seeing significant growth.
The report shows that the total UK retail sales from November 1 to December 24 show a 2.6 percent rise year-on-year, in-store sales increased by 3.5 percent as shoppers returned to the high street, while the online sales were down 2.8 percent, showing that consumers still have an appetite for shopping in person, especially during the holiday season.
Jewellery was a big winner, it was classified into a “festive favourite” and witnessed significant growth, increasing by 8.3 percent year-on-year, while clothing sales were up 8 percent as British consumers updated their wardrobe for the festive party season. Even though shoppers have been willing to splash out for gifts, they wanted to do so at the right price.

Dior has joined forces with Japanese artist Otani Workshop for an illustrative capsule of whimsical, character-covered wares. Otani Workshop has long held the reins among ceramic creators in Japan. He’s known for his distinct ability to parlay traditional artistic techniques into contemporary practices — a skill which he has cleverly fused into this latest Dior collaboration. Dior’s Otani Workshop collection will arrive in boutiques and on the brand's webstore on January 4th.

Oakley Delivers Fiery First Capsule of 2024, Inspired by the Year of the Dragon

Inspired by the spirit of the Dragon, Oakley’s first collection of 2024 brings the dragon’s daring demeanor to life. Oakley encourages wearers to depart from tradition and boldly embrace the future.
Oakley’s signature Holbrook and Sutro silhouettes are revamped. Each pair features intricate designs along the gold stems, evocative of lunar shadows and the lunar calendar’s moon phases. A white lunar dragon polishes off the lens design, and a custom micro bag comes with each pair, which also boasts hand-drawn dragons throughout.
