Iconic aughts streetwear brand Baby Phat returns
It's astonishing to think that nearly twenty-five years have elapsed since fashion brands like Fubu, Sean Jean, Enyce, Rocawear, Karl Kani, Phat Farm, and the iconic Baby Phat were at the forefront of the industry. As fashion trends often follow a cyclical pattern, it comes as no surprise that Baby Phat, helmed by CEO and creative director Kimora Lee Simmons, is experiencing a resurgence, given the renewed popularity of early 2000s fashion among Generation Z.
"We've seen users wearing low-rise jeans, rhinestones, and all the iconic Baby Phat designs on social media. It's a testament to the timelessness of our brand and its ability to resonate with a new generation—the past meeting the future," she said.
However, the decision to reintroduce the brand to the current market extended beyond mere nostalgia. "It's about embracing the present and the future while staying true to our roots. I believe in the power of our brand and in the ability to inspire a new generation of women who are unapologetically themselves. We've grown, evolved, and are more inclusive than ever, reflecting the diversity of our world. We seek to embrace and empower women, and the time for that is now," continued Simmons.
The collection, set to be released in stages, will present a range of styles described as a seamless fusion of streetwear and high fashion, as stated in an official release.

Rolex buys Geneva building that’s home to arch rival Omega
In the ongoing competition for prime real estate among leading Swiss watch brands, a subsidiary of Rolex SA has acquired a building situated on Geneva's most exclusive shopping street. Interestingly, the building currently serves as the flagship boutique for rival brand Omega.
Marconi Investment SA paid 120 million Swiss francs ($133 million) for the building on Rue du Rhone, according to a filing with Geneva’s land registry.
As a consequence, Omega will now find itself issuing a substantial monthly rent payment to its chief competitor, while Rolex gains influence over the management and functioning of the building. According to reports from the Tribune de Geneve, there are provisions that could potentially facilitate the termination of an existing lease by a new owner under specific circumstances.
